Argh! What is it with British health-care professionals finding it so difficult to find a vein? I needed to have my blood taken pre-admission and I ended up feeling like a pin-cushion - I now have not one, not two, but five needlemarks: one on each hand and three on my left arm. I look like a drug addict!

And to think that this time last year I was all giddy with the anticipation of going to Paris and seeing Banlieue 13 Ultimatum for the first time. Now what do I have to look forward to? Having my gallbladder removed. Not quite the same...

Of course finally seeing the film did turn out to be a somewhat painful experience, so maybe I shouldn't complain? ;-)

Yikes. That's a stressful way to start your hospital visit. I hope the rest all goes smoothly and you have a good, quick recovery.

Thanks! Apparently the procedure is fairly simple, so I should be ok. Here's hoping the blood test has actually been the toughest part ;-)

Good luck! I had mine removed in september and it was a much easier process than I feared :) I stayed in the hospital for roughly 12 hours (they allowed me to go home for the night so that the baby could have easy access to some drug polluded milk ;))

Thanks! I do hope the procedure will be as simple as everyone says :-)

It was very thoughtful of your doctors to release you so soon. I guess they knew you'd get proper rest because surely the sprog slept all night through after having morphine-spiked milk ;-)
