I can hardly believe THE weekend is finally here!

Right, so:

Euros - check
Passport - check
Eurostar tickets - check
directions to cinema - printed
cinema timetable - printed (I should be able to squeeze in two and a half viewings - I'll have to leave before the third seance ends to catch my train back)

Wheee!!!!!

In a related story, look what I've found attached surreptitiously to the entry in David's blog about the Canal+ interview with Luc Besson:

Has Luc Besson adopted David or something? First he wrote a film for him (two in fact), then his production company chipped in for the organisation of the New Yorker Jam in 2007, and now he's giving David a piece of Paris to train in undisturbed?! And how awesome is it that it's department 93, just where banlieue 13 is supposed to be? :-) Also, woo hoo! David finally did it - there will be a place designed especially for parkour! As per Stephane Vigroux they had all the plans for a parkour park ready back in the late 1990s, and even after the various rifts and splits it was the one thing David, Sebastien and the Yamakasi all agreed on and tried to achieve - a place for their sport. And now, finally, David got it :weeps:

Hee, I expect the inhabitants of Lisses and Evry must be overjoyed ;-)

OMG you're going to have such a brilliant time! I'm so glad you're going to see it more than once, because from what I've seen on the forums there are definitely things to look out for that may require repeated viewings. I think I'll post a list in the community, so don't look if you're avoiding spoilers.

Have a safe trip, enjoy the film, and for the love of all that is good take copious mental notes to report later! ;-)

*is insanely jealous*

Do please post the list, I want to know what I'm in for because otherwise I might get forcibly removed from the cinema for loud squeeing ;-) From what I've seen critics hate the film and audiences love it, so it looks like it'll be a lot of fun. And yes, you can expect a detailed report in about 27 hours :-)

Critics are morons. I feel sorry for them if they can't appreciate the utter awesome that is this film. It's not supposed to be Shakespeare, ffs!

I don't think I'm going to sleep this weekend until I see your views. Oh, I SO hope it doesn't let us down! I don't think it could, because just the fistbump was more than I was expecting, but I still have irrational fear they'll squeeze in a line about someone's girlfriend just to mess us up!

Ugh, whatever, it's going to be amazing and I'm worrying for nothing. Enjoy!

Well, it's all good then, because a line about a girlfriend will be more than likely lost on me. I do wish that when Damien undresses he'll reveal an L tattoo. You know, for "Lola" :snicker:

My daily paper (Libération) didn't say a word about it, alas, or I should have cut the paper out for you. They made their Wednesday cinema pages about "The Wrestler" which receives a very wide support.
I heard only one débat on TPS Star (recorded), where advices were various. Some wouldn't hear from the movie (a French action-only movie, bah!) and another one said that at least, he wasn't bored for a minute, which is a good thing when watching a movie! So he recommended it warmly for people under 16 ROTFL
He said the theater was at its full, with (young) people even sitting down in the alleys.

Don't be jealous. Believe it or not, I'm NOT going to see the movie... I'll watch it, perhaps, when it's on TV, but this isn't my cup of tea. I'm fed up with suburbs youth and violence explosion going for real here a few years ago. Yeah, I know, I was there in May, 1968 and enjoyed it, but the spirit was totally different...
No, Yvi and I are probably going to spend a few hours in a café, chatting about our favourite subject, Niiiiiiick! And I hope together we'll find some Fox & Ratty cartoons ideas, for I'm brain dead those days. LOL

Oh, I'm so sorry, I posted on the wrong thread by mistake! *embarassed* I meant to reply to [livejournal.com profile] czeri but I had the window too small and clicked the wrong reply. I didn't mean to stalk a random stranger! Please ignore. *blush*
