Nov. 7th, 2008 07:38 pmOk, that B13 Ultimatum filming diary? Is the best way to promote a film I've ever seen. Episode 5 has been uploaded today and it's all about David and Cyril doing their first scene together. By the look of things the sequel is well on its way to outslash the original. There's a scene, for example, in which Damien and Leito duck behind a wall after being shot at and talk with their heads maybe 10 centimeters apart. Or rather Leito talks while Damien looks at his eyes, looks at his lips, looks at his eyes, looks at his lips, looks at his eyes... Cue in myself yelling at my computer: "SNOG ALREADY!!!!!"
There are also some behind the scenes interviews, and I have to say it's adorable to see David stressing out about acting when he can jump a 20 meter gap without so much as batting an eyelash ;-)
And since I'm on the subject of the filming diary, episode 4 was about shooting a scene in which Leito was wearing :gasp: long sleeves. The sleeves belonged to a half-unzipped hoodie, though, so most of his chest was still visible. That leads me to believe that the eye-candy clause Luc Besson must have put in David's contract requires him to show at least two tattoos at any given time (Way to go, Luc! Two thumbs up from me!) ;-)

Date: 2008-11-08 07:52 am (UTC)The eye-candy clause is no laughing matter - I bet that once the diary gets to the filming that took place in September and November, the behind the scenes shots will consist of David huddled under a blanket eyeing enviously the warm coats all the crew members are wearing :-)
I've been learning French for about two weeks now, which only makes me aware of how I don't understand anything. For example, I can hear how in one interview David says "... je connais bien," but what he knows well, I have no idea. And why on Earth are Damien and Leito discussing a cook book while they're being shot at? Granted that in the first film Leito said that he'd learnt how to tie up the Yeti from a cook book, so maybe he also found a way to deal with a sniper in it, but if so, what do onions and carrots have to do with anything?
As for the featurettes, from the main page you need to click on 'Le Blog' (or go directly to http://blog.b13ultimatum-lefilm.com/ (http://blog.b13ultimatum-lefilm.com/)). Now you should see a big B13-U logo and on the bottom of the page thumbnails of the featurettes located along a line with days of the week. You can slide the line right or left with your mouse to find the previous episodes. It takes a moment for an episode to load (I actually save them with the Download Helper Mozilla add-on instead of watching them on the site).

Date: 2008-11-14 12:41 am (UTC)Haha, I've been taking French since September and I still had no clue about most of what was said. Not that that affects the visuals any ;) I really wish I was fluent so I could see the second movie un-dubbed this time, but that's not going to happen. >.>
And B13:U better not take years to reach the States, or I'm headed over there, haha. The closest thing coming is like Transporter 3, and that just doesn't compare. >:)

Date: 2008-11-14 07:57 am (UTC)I hear you about B13:U being released outside of France. That's why I intend to pop over to Paris for a day in February to see the film (if not understand it ;-)), because I just won't be able to bear waiting for a version I can comprehend.
