the best film review ever

I was going to write a serious entry for once, about the kinks and squicks of characterisation (well, I still might, it is a fascinating subject) but I got distracted by the best film review ever:
District B13? Really Really Gay.
Wow, the two guys in District B13? They are soooo in love. They put Butch and Sundance to shame. They were one pup-tent-romp short of making Ennis and Jack blush.
Seriously, I haven't watched a "buddy" movie where the big fight between the two "clashing" "headstrong" leads was just destined to end with a really intense fuck this badly since Mr. & Mrs. Smith, or something outside of the Titan oeuvre.
But of course, it never went there. I thought I was witnessing the first gay action heroes, but no, they chickened out. Well, we still have The Transporter.
Damien (Cyril Raffaelli) could barely even make himself look at Leito(David Belle)'s sister, who was throwing herself on top of him at the end trying in vain to break the two men's stares. Good luck, girly. You'll just end up wondering why the two of them spend so much time "working out" together.
Never even mind the fancy new tanktop Leito gets himself at the end. Good grief. Was this thing filmed in a backlot in Chelsea?
ROTFALMAO! And the best part?

Date: 2008-10-11 08:45 pm (UTC)where they finally get together, right? And seriously, that fight scene = second only to the gayness of 2 Fast 2 Furious' fight scene (see icon), lol... XDAlso, that review kind of made me want to see The Transporter 2 for the supposed subtext now, heh. >.>

Date: 2008-10-11 09:04 pm (UTC)As for TFATF, I'm a Dom/Brian girl myself, though sadly they did not have a proper fight. They still might in the upcoming "Fast and Furious" ;-)
Don't bother with "Transporter 2", it's all about Frank flirting with his new employer's wife :-( It's the original that's supposedly had gay subtext put in by the director. And it does have that oil wrestling scene... ;-)
