czeri...as in 'film'. Why, what did you think?
Firstly, the Half Blood Prince delay. Although the posters on Movies Without Pity made a lot of valid points about the most likely reason behind it, I somehow still think it's because the Sectumsempra scene turned out too violent and so they're frantically trying to write Draco out of the film entirely, simply because writing him out was what they've been doing for the last three films. That said, I don't particularly care one way or the other, except that the delay means the game will have to be delayed as well, won't it? And I do enjoy the HP games far more than someone my age should :-)
Secondly, I finally saw District 13 yesterday. OMG, why didn't anyone tell me to watch it before now?! I had no idea the French could do slashy so well! I haven't been squealing so gleefully at all the overt homoeroticism since "3:10 to Yuma"! For those who haven't heard about it, it's one of those parkour films that the French have been doing (others being "Yamakasi" and "Yamakasi 2"), and let me tell you, it's definitely worth watching just to see the amazing stunts the two leads perform. But on top of the stunning acrobatics, you also get one of the gayest stories ever about how a policeman and a, well, not a criminal exactly, but a guy from the bad part of town distrustful of the police start to work together towards a common goal, make a perfect team, then fight each other (that scene was fucking awesome), and then join forces again. The two main characters - Leito (the not-criminal) and Damian (the policeman) are both lovely, and they are so hot for each other it sparks off the screen. In one scene, for example, after Damian's belief in the good guys has been shattered, Leito pats his thigh consolingly (and yes, it could be because after the smackdown they lay on each other moments before Leito doesn't have the strength to reach anywhere else, but the important thing is HE PATS DAMIAN'S THIGH to CONSOLE HIM!). And then there's the last scene, when they say goodbye to each other and linger looking into each other's eyes longingly, until Leito's sister, deciding that her brother is too shy to do it, snogs Damian for him before all the UST blows Paris up after all. Where's all the Damian/Leito fanfiction?!
ETA: OMG, they're filming "District 14" right now!!!!! Squee!!!!
Thirdly, Pandorum started filming last Monday! Which means that in about a year I will get to see Ben Foster in sf; and also, that technically speaking, he's on the same continent I am, even if Berlin is still too far for autograph hunting. Anyway, until "Pandorum" hits theatres, I'm amusing myself picturing Ben's various characters in space ;-)
