Heh, you know how you say that you could listen to an actor read a telephone book? Well, I've just listened to Ben Foster reciting the list of a gun shop customers and their purchases, and it was utterly brilliant. What's even better, I have another 77 10-minute long sound files to go. Bliss...

Thank you, baggyeyes, once again for telling me that Ben did the "Bright Shiny Morning" audio-book!

Don't thank me, thank the elusive copy of Bag of Bones in Audio book format. I only noticed Bright Shiny Morning when I couldn't find what I was looking for. :(

Tomorrow, I shall have ice cream! Ice cream makes everything better.

Thanks for letting me know, though :-) Mmm, Ben's voice is steadily getting raspier and raspier. Surely they didn't make him record the entire book in one sitting?! I still have 50 sound files to go, at this rate he'll be whispering in 30 and he'll lose his voice entirely by the end.

They might record it in a few days to a week, so the book would be broken down by either chapters, or sections of the chapters. I'm sure they took breaks, though. :-D

Let me know how the book is (without giving away major plot points). I may see if I can but it when I can afford it. The book, not the CDs. No way I afford that.

I've just finished. Overall it took 14 hours, Ben Foster has been talking to me about Los Angeles for 14 hours. I'm blissed out :-)

I liked the book, it wasn't a masterpiece, but it was good enough. I thought some of the stories were too stereotypical, but the facts were interesting, and I did cry once or twice, and laughed out loud several times. (Mind you, some of the laughing could be due to Ben, he does an absolutely perfect 'European reporter' accent, and Russian accent, and surfer dude accent).
