HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] balefully!

I've found a happy compromise about reading (or not) the leaked DH - I'm planning to read about 300 pages and leave the rest for Friday night. This way finishing the book during the night will actually become feasible and I'll still get to share my reactions to the outcome with other fans (I've remained remarkably unspoiled about most of the plot so far).

Anyway, I'm up to page 200, and here are my impressions so far:

Whee! Malfoy Manor! Sadly, since it's now Voldie's HQ, it will probably be destroyed by the end of the book :sigh:

I have similarly mixed reactions to Lucius being free - he was safe in Azkaban, now he'll probably be killed :sniff: Although considering that Voldie stole and then destroyed his wand, hopefully Lucius won't get a chance to get in harm's way too much.

Dudley rocks :-)

Heh, Harry's still in denial - he wants Ginny cause he can't have her :shakes head: Of course, if he doesn't realise he's gay and ends up marrying her, he'll just end up a henpecked Athur 2.0, which makes my Harry-disliking self cackle with glee ;-)

ZOMG! Draco's Voldemort's torturer now?! Let the dark fic flow!!! I knew my evil baby would take to the unforgivables like duck to water - he proved his proficiency with Imperius in HBP, and now his Cruciatus turns out to be up to Voldie's exacting standarts :-) Too bad that Voldemort insists on being present so that Draco is too busy being scared of him to enjoy himself properly. That can seriously mess him up - he'll need a determined sub to make him embrace his sadistic side again after all this is over :pets Draco with concern:

If anyone feels like comenting, please do not refer o anything that happens after chapter 10. Thank you.

Did you? How is this supposed to indicate skill rather than willingness: Draco is too busy being scared of him to enjoy himself properly, right after describing Draco as "evil"?

My original post was:
I knew my evil baby would take to the unforgivables like duck to water - he proved his proficiency with Imperius in HBP, and now his Cruciatus turns out to be up to Voldie's exacting standarts :-)

The fact Draco was to scared to enjoy himself was a separate thought.

Draco is very clearly scared of what he's seeing;

For me what was clearly communicated was that Draco was obviously very scared period and I do not argue that point at all.

I don't know how far along in the book are you, so I won't say anything about that, but I don't agree with you that it "requires a sadistic streak". You'll know what I mean near the end. I think.

I guess we'll have to postpone our discussion until after this weekend's over. Unless you're coming to Sectus?

So what you're saying is that the separate thought about enjoyment has nothing to do with Draco's feelings regarding being the torturer? I tend to read things in context, rather than out of context...

Draco was obviously very scared period
Draco's spent a year being scared of "Voldemort in general" already; I think the novelty would've worn off by this point. ;)

I am sadly not coming to Sectus. Woe.
