the best part of being in fandom - meeting other fans

I met the lovely anthimaeria yesterday and had the best time talking about the Deathly Hallows, slash, canon, fanon, fandom, cons, meta, fics, "Equus", TV shows, you name it. It was exactly what any fandom meet-up should be, so those of you who didn't make it can start kicking yourselves now. I sincerely hope I've managed to convince anthimaeria to come to Sectus, because I'd love to meet her again.

BTW, anthimaeria, in case you don't get your hands on the original Queer as Folk fast enough, this is the body I steal for Draco. Long, lean and gorgeous; enough to lure even Myrtle out of her bathroom :-) You can see a bit more here, and every little detail will be available for your perusal when you get QaF ;-)

Incidentally, Charlie Hunnam played together with Elijah Wood in one of the slashiest-without-being-outright-gay films ever - "Green Street". Charlie got too bulky for the role to be the perfect Draco, unfortunately, but I still highly recommend watching it for those of the H/D persuasion.

Hmm, come to think of it, is there a fic out there about how if Harry accepted Draco's offer of friendship, Draco introduced him to his circle of Slytherins and mentored him in the ways of the wizards? Because if there isn't, one really needs to be written!

Thanks again for coming by. It really was so much fun talking to you and exchanging slashy opinions - if I hadn't had to get up early for my plane and you hadn't had to catch your train, I felt like the conversation could have gone on and on. And now I simply must rent UK Queer as Folk (and see if I can find any Torchwood to download).... ;)

I know of at least one fic sort of along the lines you mention (Harry befriends Draco and is sorted to Slytherin): F**k Me I'm Famous by resimesdra.

Oh, and as for Torchwood, try to see ep 11. The rest are really bad, but this one is a beautiful if angsty gay love story.
