Apr. 21st, 2012 01:24 pmYou know how when you rewatch something without paying attention to the plot, you notice a lot of extra stuff happening in the background? Well, I've done that with Spartacus Vengeance and I've developed a theory. The theory is this: Gannicus is, in fact, a jedi.
Stephen DeKnight admitted himself that Star Wars was part of his inspiration for creating the character of Gannicus, whom he describes as a combination of Han Solo and Achilles. And while Han Solo did not have the mastery over the force, Gannicus clearly does.
( cut for pictorial evidence )
In conclusion, when Gannicus said he was "many years from Capua" he must have meant "many light years". ;-)
