Blood and Sand
Apr. 20th, 2012 05:36 pmI’ve managed to tear myself away from Gods of the Arena long enough to re-watch Blood and Sand.( Read more... )
I haven’t really explored the special features too much other than the fact track (although I’ve only noticed it and turned it on from episode 5 onwards), which I really enjoyed. Gladiator trade unions FTW!
I’m not going to bother with a proper re-watch of the third season until the blu rays come out. I still remember the plot fairly well, so all I’m concentrating on is the eye-candy. Which brings me to my major gripe with Vengeance - what the hell were they thinking choosing Gannicus’ wardrobe?! I get that as he’s no longer a gladiator he wouldn’t really be running around in just the subligaria; and that they wanted to show via his clothes that he’d been travelling, but covering him up with all that ugly fabric is unforgivable. Why couldn’t he just keep his outfit from the arena?! That, I thought, worked very well in episode 6. Someone better steal his current clothes, or burn them, by the beginning of the 4th season…
