Happy Birthday
furiosity!
I went to watch some horror films at Kye's on Thursday. It was great to see everyone, especially since the last time I went t00bing was back in January. I'm painfully out of the loop as far as HP fandom is concerned, but since we were talking about things as varied as "Heroes", the Baldwins, "Roswell", or live sightings of "Peter Pan's" actors, it wasn't that big of a drawback. And then there were the films, naturally. To be fair, though, we weren't so much watching them as occasionally glancing at the screen :-) In any case, I got to see "Slither", which I'd been planning to do for quite some time now. What's even better, I had the excuse to rewatch "30 Days of Night" and make googly eyes at The Stranger (what can I say, Ben Foster's hotness just shines through the grime).
Unfortunately I had to leave before 11 because I had to be at work on Friday. Still, it was a fun evening.
Speaking of films, having run out of Ben Foster's actual appearances to watch, today I grabbed my three disc edition of Black Hawk Down in the hopes of spotting him in the extras. And lo and behold, there he was:
( cut for picspam )
Whee! So now I have irrefutable evidence that Ben Foster was indeed under Jason Isaacs' command during the bootcamp. I just love it when fandoms collide like that!
Sadly I wasn't able to find any mention of what it was that Ben did to himself during the training that made him drop out of the movie (why yes, I don't believe for a second that the 'serious injury' he sustained wasn't self-inflicted, if only because of Ben's well-documented self-preservation deficiency). I guess I'll have to ask Jason next time I see him :-)
