czeriSo, I've finally watched The Dark Knight Rises. It was... long. Mind you, I'm not a big fan of this series as a whole, because I tend to find unrelenting bleakness ridiculous rather than affecting. Still, this installment had loads of awesome cameos, and of course Tom Hardy. Who was able to emote from behind the mask after all. From the reactions I've read it appears a lot of people disliked his backstory, but for me that was what made him amazing. I do admit, though, that when he was presented as just this tough guy prisoner beloved by other inmates I was wondering if he was hiding Bronson's mustache behind the mask ;-)
One of the trailers before the film was for Lawless, which looks like the sort of film I would never think of seeing, except it has Tom Hardy in it. And last time he was in a film like that it was Warrior, so yeah... Also, Empire did an article on Lawless that did a lot to warm me up to the film purely based on this quote from Tom Hardy:
Bottom line, Forrest is a mum.Even though I'm physically the most dangerous of the three, Forrest is there to clean, cook, wear the apron, stash the money, look after his brothers. [...] I've got the muscles growing from Batman, 'cause I'm working on another job at the same time - instead of moonshine I'm moonlighting. But I've also got a cardigan. I'm not ashamed to wear that. It's soft. The cardigan is a flag of maternal instinct.

That other job he mentions is of course Mad Max, and I've had a giggle fit when I've realised he just might be doing an Australian accent for it. Especially since Chris Hemsworth has recently finished filming Rush in which he has an English accent ;-)
Ooh, BTW, can you imagine, if Tom and Chris met and chatted for a bit, and someone recorded it, they could make loads of money selling the audio as ear porn :dreamy sigh:
I think I now crave a Tom Hardy and Chris Hemsworth team-up in a film more than a Tom Hardy and Dominic Cooper one...
