Nov. 25th, 2010 05:46 pmI have to say I can't wait for
yuletide stories this year. There are 4 requests for Banlieue 13, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed this year some of them will be picked up. Aside from that, while checking the requests letters I've found a few people asking for RocknRolla and all of the requests are about Handsome Bob! With One Two/Handsome Bob being the prefered pairing! Thank you, Inception!
Another
yuletide request that caught my eye was for the Mayhem Allstate ads. Someone asked for a day in life of Mayhem, or his backstory, etc. Sounds awesome :-) I haven't really read any Oz fic for years, so it's such a nice feeling to look forward to a story about Dean Winters' character ;-)
Coming back to RocknRolla, seeing those request prompted me to do another search for fic and I've found an entire lj community. True that most of the stories are still about Johhny and Archie, but there are several about One Two/Handsome Bob as well, so I finally got to read the pairing I've been craving for two years now. The one I liked best so far is "Two Step":
The thing most people don't know is that Bob can be a manipulative cunt when he wants to be.
A talent for magnificent manipulative cuntery is on Bob’s Wild Bunch CV, right after ‘good with a vehicle’ and ‘handy with a blunt instrument’.
:-)

Date: 2010-11-25 07:40 pm (UTC)Okay, I will admit it- I flailed when I saw this post! ;) I love Handsome Bob- I'm totally one of the many that discovered the hotness that is Tom Hardy when I saw Inception, and then was looking for other stuff by him and watched RocknRolla and was like, where has this film been all my life, haha! <3 And yes, there is a sad lack of fanfic! :( I will now be stalking Yuletide. xD

Date: 2010-11-25 08:25 pm (UTC)I am not good with writing challenges with a set deadline. I did a bigbang once and it nearly killed me (though I did manage to finish the story and go over 15000 words). Sometimes I get crazy inspired and write 10000 words in two nights, other times I don't write a thing for weeks. But if you have a deadline and a word limit to meet, you can't not write. And I can't do that.

Wow, 10000 words in two days? I'm not sure I've written that many in total... But I totally get where you're coming from - when you cannot trust yourself to come up with a story it's probably best to stay away from fests, even when they seem as much fun as
Mind you, if you ever get inspired about B13, now you have somewhere to post it, no dealines :-)
As for my icon, it's totally true! I don't think romances have as many moments where the main characters are seemingly on the verge of making out as the B13 films!

Date: 2010-11-25 10:13 pm (UTC)I love small fandoms! Half of my fandoms are so small most people don't even know they exist. The best thing about small fandoms is that people get so excited about everything. (But I guess if fanfic/graphics stuff is hard to find, you do get excited about the little things. *g*)
I had to bow out of Yuletide three times so far, and I've decided I'm not going to try again. If I get inspired and write something for the holidays, great. If not, I don't need the extra stress of trying to force myself to finsih my assignment. Besides, it's not fair to the requester, the mods or the pinch-hitters to sign up for Yuletide if I know I'm most likely going to back out again.
