czeriOne more short story that just doesn't fit anywhere.
“...now that Lord Voldemort is back,” Draco Malfoy gloated.
“I don’t know what you’re so happy about, Malfoy, seeing as Voldemort is your boggart,” Harry snapped, finally realizing what Voldemort had reminded him of.
“What?!” Malfoy lost his superior smile.
“You’ve heard me. When Voldemort regained his physical form, he looked a lot like the thing the boggart had turned into when you’d approached it.”
“You mean, this thing is real?” Malfoy visibly paled, which was no mean feat considering his complexion
“Why, what did you think it was?” Harry asked.
Malfoy shrugged. “A nightmare I sometimes have.”
“That makes sense,” Harry said thoughtfully. “You can’t remember the actual meeting, since you must have been really small when you’ve seen him, but he’s made a lasting enough impression to come back in your nightmares.” He looked at Malfoy curiously, “What did he do to you?”
Draco was so horrified at the news he was likely to meet his greatest fear in real life that he actually answered. “Nothing. Not to me. But a thing that can make my father scream has to be awful.”
“Yeah,” Harry nodded. “I’ve seen Voldemort cruciatus his followers. And still your father’s one of his strongest supporters.” Harry’s tone turned accusatory.
“That just doesn’t make sense,” Malfoy protested, before suddenly turning green.
“What is it?” Harry asked, surprised by the twinge of sympathy he could feel for his arch-rival.
“Oh Merlin, I’m not sure but… what if… he might’ve… I don’t think he was hurting my father…” Draco finally managed, before he ran out of the compartment and became violently sick.
It took Harry a moment to take that in, but he bolted in Malfoy’s wake soon after.
