he's like a bar of expensive soap...

God, I hate being sick. It's awfully annoying when you can't so much as turn on your side in bed without having a coughing fit :-(

In more uplifting news, the price cuts on DVDs are getting ridiculous. I have become the proud owner of the complete "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" series for under 50 quid and the complete "Fast Show" collection for 13 quid. If no one stops me I'll probably end up buying "The State of Play", too.

And since I'm on the subject of my rapidly decreasing account balance, I booked my Eurostar tickets to Paris! They'd better not dare change the premiere date now, because what the hell will I do all day with no "B13 Ultimatum" to watch multiple times? Go to Evry and wander around until I find the manpower gap, stare up at it and go: "Fuuuuuck"? And then make my way across the motorway and wander around Lisses until I find Dam du Lac, stare up at it and go: "Fuuuuuck"? That'd be just too sad...

Not to mention that I really really want to see B13 Ultimatum, the sooner the better. They've posted the most beautiful picture on the filming blog today, of Damien and Leito perched together on a roof watching the Parisian skyline. The prominently visible Eiffel Tower is just the perfect touch -

I can almost hear Leito saying: "Damien, enough with the binoculars. I don't bring just anyone up here, you know..."

Aw, hope you feel better! ^^

Other than that- fun stuff! I'm doing the same thing with books instead of DVD's... Which I keep getting told is ridiculous with Christmas right around the corner. >_> Also, that picture!!! <3 <3 Can't wait to hear about Ultimatum...! :)

I've invested in some cough syrup, we'll see if it works :-)

Heh, I did happen to ask for a number of books for Christmas, so I'm not currently buying any myself, but far be it from me to suggest buying books this time of year is ridiculous. Especially if you come across one of those really amazing bargains...

That picture is something else, isn't it? I can't help staring at it and go all dreamy... And now that my tickets arrived, and I've printed the directions on how to get from the train station to the two nearest cinemas, I can hardly wait for February. It can't possibly be still two whole months away!

Hi! I stumbled here during one of my obsessive checks for any news about B13-U--It's so nice to see I'm not the only one suffering because of this movie! Have you seen the trailer yet? It was just posted yesterday (linked in my journal) and I've been dying ever since.

I am so jealous that you can get to Paris in February! I'm in the States and we'll probably never get B13-U onscreen. Please, please, please tell me you can provide a detailed recap once you've seen it. Also, if you know anyone who can translate the filming diaries I will be forever grateful. I'm willing to pay in fic!

OMG! A fellow B13 fan! :big hug:

Yeah, I just saw the trailer today. Not much new footage, except for the plotty bits, which was nice, because I was wondering for a while now who the enemy is supposed to be this time...

I will definitely provide a detailed recap of B13U, though I have to warn you that I don't expect to understand much of the plot and so I'll most likely be concentrating on the action scenes, and on which shots made either Cyril or David look particularly fetching :-)

I did manage to get a translation of episode 5 out of an old acquaintance, but since we're not really close I don't feel comfortable asking her for more. Episode 5 is the only one that matters though, isn't it? Sure it would be nice to know what David's ranting about in ep 6, but I can live without it ;-) I'll post the translation is a separate comment.

Also, love your icon! I haven't seen this shot before, do you have a link to a bigger version?

Squee! *hugs back*

Yeah, I should have clarified that by "plot" I actually meant "number of times Damien and Leito do something incriminating together," such as unzipping those hoodies... ;-)

Whee, thank you so much! That helps a lot, actually.

[livejournal.com profile] _backpages_ made it for me. I think she got the still off the allocine.fr website. The link to six photos is here.

— David: "David Belle, on Banlieue 13 Ultimatum"
— Clapman: "[...], fourth. Action!"
(gunshots, they run and hide.)
— Cyril: "Tell me, it's welcoming as ever at your's!"
— Director: "You met again a short time ago, and suddenly, it's... ping-pong, a ping-pong between you, and it's bouncing well, you know."
— Cyril: "My only Bible, today, it's the civil code" (collection of laws applying to everyday life.)
— David: "[...] a moment of comedy, and that's true, it's been a good while, truly, we didn't see each other for four years, you know."
— David: "'My only Bible today, it's civil code.' Fuck, good thing that as a child, you didn't find a cook book. You would have made for us stuffed chicken, or chicken with onions, maybe, or beef with carrots." (Ooookay, explanation: here cops are called “poulets” (chicken), and IGS guys, the "polices' police", which controls other services, are nicknamed “boeuf-carottes”; probably because they let simmer rotten policemen.)
— Director: "Yes, make fun of him, hey."
— Cyril: "It puts pressure, too, because it's the first scene with both of us in it that we shoot, that we want to be good, you know."
— David: "He was a little 'stressed' this morning, he pissed everybody off, you know, two-pence faked apologies, 'I haven't my stuff'..."
(They hide.)
— Cyril: "And you, smart-ass, what do you believe in, beside yourself?"
— David: "In fact, he's freaking out, you know, that's all, he doesn't want to say so, he doesn't want to confess to himself, I'm saying so myself, because I know him well."
— Director: "Please, we rehearse, once." (Or: we do it again, same word in French.)
— David: [...] (Impossible to understand, sorry.)
— Cyril: "Ah... Ah yes."
— Director: "So, you got used to it, no?"
— Cyril: "No, it would hurt ('no way'). 'Tell me, it's welcoming as ever at your's.'"
(They hide.)
— Cyril: "Okay, do we move or do we philosophize?"
— David: "We move."
— Cyril: "When we meet again, it's easier, more pleasant, more... there's more communion, we're more relaxed than on the first one, let's say."

OMG I hoped that's what they were saying! I had a guess, but I couldn't be sure. I love that they're still all pissy and teasing each other like the first movie even when people are shooting at them. <3 Oh, boys.

I know, I love the banter too :-) And heh, it looks like David's as confused about the timeline as I am. If B13U is taking place in 2013, and B13 had to take place after 2010, then it's definitely not been 4 years since Leito and Damien saw each other (he couldn't have been talking about himself and Cyril, because there's ample video evidence that they were hovering on top of each other just two years ago). Unless he meant it figuratively, as in every minute that they were apart felt like a month ;-)
