• My This Mean War blu ray arrived yesterday, and I can confirm that one of the three alternative endings does indeed consist of Chris Pine and Tom Hardy huddled together on one side of the road with Reese Witherspoon on her own on the other side after the villain's van flew over them. I guess they weren't lying in the Empire interview ;-) Too bad that there wasn't a threesome ending included... As for the other extras, the deleted scenes are ok, and the extended version only has one extra thing I could spot (funny, but I think the film flows better without it anyway). It was great to see the film again, even if it had the unexpected side-effect of making me crave to watch the first 11 minutes of Star Trek. I guess I've developed a new reaction to seeing Chris Pine - sighing to myself I so wish this was Kirk senior instead ;-)



• Speaking of, IMDB nearly gave me a heart attack when I went there to check Rush's release date and found a mysterious new title showing up as coming out this year, with the cast including Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hardy! Unfortunately it turned out to be a DVD release of several short films, so I'll have to wait for Tom and Chris to actually share a screen a little bit longer still.



• And since I was clicking around I've ventured on the Thor 2 site and I've only just noticed that they've recast Fandral. With Zachary Levi of all people! I get that Josh Dallas is now busy with Once Upon A Time but come on, Zachary Levi?! That's so not on...



• Oh, I have also received the Snow White and the Huntsman novel in the mail. It's really really bad. I mean, really bad. However, it includes a double-sided fold-out poster, and I figure two promo pics of Chris Hemsworth on photo paper are totally worth the price of the book :-)
