Great news all around!
Nov. 5th, 2008 07:50 amFirst of all, the US presidential election has made me feel like I was living "The West Wing". Awesome, people, truly awesome :-)
Secondly, I finally bought myself a proper set of furniture for the lounge (at the moment I'm trying to fit all my stuff into a solitary bookcase that's a step away from falling into pieces) that is not only beautiful and fitting the measurements of my lounge perfectly, but one that was also between 600 and 650 quid (depending on the rate of exchange on the day of the transaction). I've also found a company that will transport it for me to the UK for 200 quid. So that's a 6-piece set of wooden furniture giving me all but an unlimited amount of shelf space for under a 1000 quid! I have to keep looking at the invoice to convince myself I haven't dreamed the whole thing :-)
Thirdly, it turns out that the official "Banlieu 13 Ultimatum" site is going to be updated with high quality featurettes from every day of shooting until the film's premiere. The first 3 days are up at the moment, and let me tell you, it's a thing of beauty. David not even jumping any more but flying over a railing as Leito flees the policemen chasing him; David and Cyril, shoulder to shoulder, discussing a short fight scene; the set of the film that actually does make Banlieu 13 look like hell on Earth (something that was oddly missing in the first film) or like Oz in season 4; the sharp picture quality that displays David's new tattoo in all it's glory - it's an intricate, vaguely wing-like design incorporating the scar he has on his left arm, the scar's cross-like shape now entirely covered in black ink. I keep refreshing the site like mad hoping they'll put up day 4 soon ;-)
So there, those are all the reasons I'm currently perfecting the ultimate version of the happy dance :-)
