I had lovely time yesterday hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] waterbird, [livejournal.com profile] cryptic_thinky, [livejournal.com profile] quiet_lucidity, [livejournal.com profile] melusinahp, [livejournal.com profile] tienriu, [livejournal.com profile] annephoenix, [livejournal.com profile] son_of_darkness and [livejournal.com profile] wheatgerm in Regents Park. We were later joined by [livejournal.com profile] elanor_isolda with a friend, whose name I'm ashamed to admit I have no idea how to spell (there are just too many possibilities, woe!), and (briefly) by [livejournal.com profile] pitchblackrose and [livejournal.com profile] naughtyhouseelf. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious (particularly the pumpkin bread - thanks so much, [livejournal.com profile] waterbird!), but the best thing of all was all the fannish discussion we indulged in. God how I love comparing views on particular characters and pairings, going meta on fanfic in general, scrutinising the books looking for clues for or against any wild theories circulating around the fandom, and coming up with new ones in the process, all with a bunch of fellow-fans. There's nothing better in the world! (BTW, [livejournal.com profile] tienriu, here's a link to the Fanfic Symposium, as you can see there are quite a few columns on feedback and criticism)

From the t00bs being t00by part of the proceedings, Vee's emo!penguin deserves a special mention as it was a thing of beauty and I hope to get my hands on some of the pictures preserving it for posterity.

All in all, it was the best time I've had in a while :-)

I had a great time, too and loved all the canon discussion. Glad you liked the pumpkin bread. :)

Despite the fact that she was so well camouflaged that you didn't even see her :p ...

Mind you, that is what camouflage is for ;-)

The pumpkin bread was so good that it seriously undermined my original assumption that the pumpkin juice they keep drinking in Hogwarts has to be awful ;-) Thanks so much for organising the meeting!

It was fun, even getting lost while looking for the loo was fun. :)

Hee, I think my emo!penguin was the best thing evarz (Kye tells me the falling on my arse/face was especially good) and intend to icon it as soon as I get my hands on pictures XD

It was so nice seeing you again, and I wish I'd had the attention span to join in with more of the conversations you guys were having, though I did listen in to more than I appeared to. It was also really quite strange seeing you outside, during daylight hours, and whilst I was sober! I must make more of a habit of this XD

Yeah it was :-) And the pumpkin bread made me rethink my stance on the inedibility of pumpkins ;-)

Yeah, the emo!penguin could quite possibly be the best thing ever. I'm impatiently awaiting the icon :-)

And daylight and outside are pretty cool. Too bad not many t00bages have those. The sober thing, though, is controversial ;-)
