Breakout day 3

Ok, that guest talk with Jason, Ryan and Francis together that I mentioned yesterday? Turned out to be THE BEST PART OF THE ENTIRE CONVENTION, hands down. And let me transcribe for you the quote from Francis Capra that made it so:

"All right, now you two get off me and do each other."

I shit you not. It's word for word what he said - I wrote it down immediately. And to make things even better, after the wild applause from the audience finally died down, he followed up with:

"Can't believe they did that to me just now."

Sadly, contrary to what it sounds like, Ryan, Jason and Francis did not entertain us by engaging in a passionate threesome on the stage. They were doing imitations of each other instead.

Oh, and I did find a way to throw Ben Foster into a question - I asked whether they ever did anything crazy to get into character, akin to Ben using the clamp on his foot in "30 days of night" to imitate the pain of being shot. Not really, apparently. Jason said that, when he was playing Logan drunk, he'd spin around in between takes. He refused to fess up to drinking blood, though. Ryan said he likes to listen to music just before filming a scene to get into a particular mood. Francis said that he was recently doing something, he can't tell us what, somewhere, he can't tell us where, and his voice was supposed to be gone for a reason that he can't reveal ;-) So he screamed into a pillow, which worked great for that particular scene, but not so much for the next one, which was supposed to happen two days earlier. So there, another spoiler ;-)

After the talk there was an autograph signing session. I'm sad to say that this year the actors were far less creative than last year - mostly they were just signing their names with a random "peace" or "cheers" thrown in. Oh well, at least I got to ask Jason why Josef was so adamant about not being Mick's sire in "Moonlight" - he said it was mostly for fun, that Mick and Josef were teasing each other, but also a bit about Josef dodging the responsibility.

When I got to Ryan he asked me which was my favourite character. "It's Weevil, isn't it, you can tell me." He was pouting so adorably that I just had to say that I actually love Dick, because he's such a ray of sunshine. Which got me a dazzling smile and high-five :-)

BTW, at one point today the bonus guest/host, Neil Roberts, mentioned that Ryan's wife is a hair-dresser. That explains SO MUCH ;-)

I couldn't stay for the closing ceremony because I needed to get home early enough to get some sleep before work tomorrow, so that was it for me. Until next year ;-)
